For your first Discussion post for this unit, I’d like you to write up an evaluation of a corporate blog, i.e.( NASW) NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SOCIAL WORKER using Mashable’s How-To article as a guide. This will be similar to the evaluations you have done of a company’s Facebook and Twitter pages. Read 2 or 3 months’ worth of entries for the blog, and discuss what it does that is successful, and what it could do to improve. Focus especially on a few things: the image of the business or organization that the blog creates and sustains; the ways the blog writers try to interact with readers; the blog’s “voice” (its attempt to sound like there’s a real person writing it); and its use of keywords.
If you have already looked at one company’s Facebook and Twitter, you might check to see if they have a blog, too, and evaluate that one. If you can’t find a blog to evaluate, try looking here.
Finally, remember that only one of you can evaluate a particular company’s blog, so check to make sure you aren’t overlapping with someone else.
