Week 1 Discussion Board: Digital Health Evolution and Domain-Specific Challenges
Overview
The purpose of the discussion board is to collaborate and engage with classmates and
instructor on lesson's topics. Students should make attempts to move the conversation
forward with peers by making suggestions, asking questions, or elaborating on
statements. Critical thinking and engagement are key components of a successful
discussion.  Be sure that writing demonstrated an understanding of the subject, proper
grammar and punctuation, and evidence of critical thought.  Refer to the instructions
and rubric below for guidance on expectations.
Part One: Initial Post (must be at least 150 words)
Question:
The first two chapters of Digital Health Care outline both the evolution of digital health
informatics (DHI) and the various domains within the field (e.g., medical informatics,
public health informatics, nursing informatics). As DHI has evolved, each domain has
faced its own opportunities and challenges.

 Reflect on how the phases of the digital health evolution have influenced a
specific domain of health informatics that aligns with your interests or
professional background.
 What are the primary challenges currently faced in that domain?
 How do you see digital transformation shaping its future?
